Deer Lick Cave

Located in the Brecksville Reservation, The Deer Lick Cave Trail is an incredibly scenic loop trail that passes by the cave, and also Deer Lick Cave Falls, which is best viewed after a heavy rain fall.

The cave got its unusual name because White Tailed Deer frequently lick the cave’s sandstone to supply themselves with salt, which is necessary for their survival.

Park at the Brecksville Nature Center for the trailhead. The parking lot is large, but is not visible from the main roadway.
